Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival 2013 will take place at UNESCO World Heritage site Hwaseong Fortress from September 27 to October 1. Boasting a 50-year history as the only one castle-themed cultural festival in Korea, Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival 2013 is centered on Hwaseong Fortress, which was constructed during the reign of Jeongjo, the 22nd king of the Joseon Dynasty. Many diverse festivities will be offered such as King Jeongjo’s Procession & Citizen Parade, “Total Performance of Martial Art,” and walking along Hwaseong Fortress with straw shoes. The two main events, King Jeongjo’s Procession & Citizens Parade, and “Total Performance of Martial Art” will have select VIP seats for international visitors.
